“Capoeira is everything the mouth eats…”

-Mestre Pastinha

“The dynamic art of capoeira is combat, dance, social pastime, cultural experience, performance and exercise all at once. It is an opportunity to build community and redefine your own personal strengths, boundaries and self-imposed limitations.”

- Professora Onda

Capoeira is an Afro-Brazilian art form that fuses dance and fight to create a form that cannot be compared to  any Asian  martial art form.  It has been described as “a dance-like fight, a fight-like dance”.  With its acrobatic movements, high-flying and spinning kicks, sweeps, ground movements and hand strikes, capoeira is a fun filled workout done to the beat of a drum and the twang of the berimbau.
