Dr. Darlene Brooks-Sanville currently serves as Corresponding Secretary for NOABSW
and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Board Approved Clinical Supervisor
(BACS), Doctor of Social Work and psychotherapist, with more than 20 years of
experience serving children, families, and communities. She has extensive experience
across diverse settings including secure care, inpatient, intensive outpatient, and virtual
therapy, providing trauma-informed and person-centered care to adolescents and adults
experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, substance use, and other life
challenges.
Dr. Brooks-Sanville is passionate about empowering individuals and strengthening
communities through compassionate care, clinical leadership, and mentorship of future
social work professionals. Following Hurricane Katrina, she played an important role in
community rebuilding efforts that helped families restore stability and reconnect with
their communities. Recognized for her commitment and impact, she was inducted into
the SUNO Alumni Hall of Fame and continues her work through agency services,
private practice, and professional development initiatives.
